REVIVE PAINT and PLASTER

Reviving your property with quality and care at every brushstroke.

INTERIOR PLASTERING

Plaster is applied to new or existing interior walls and ceilings in preparation for your chosen finished surface.  The plaster is used to conceal joins in the plasterboard, cover any imperfections, repair damage to existing walls, and to produce a seamless result for a quality finish in your home.  Skimming walls is a process of application that is also known as a level 5 finish.  Level 5 is used in critical light areas where natural lighting is extreme against a wall surfaces.  The even skimming of the entire surface affected provides a smooth seamless finish.  The skylight in the image to the right was completed with a Level 5 finish due to the extreme light affecting multiple angles.  New plasterboard is completed using an industry standard of a Level 4.

WALLPAPERING

Whether your preference is for rich colourful designs or soft and subtle hues, todays wallpapers have come a long way from years gone by.  Whether a single feature wall or all 4 , the selections of designs, patterns and colourways, offer opportunity to create a design pallet for your home decorating vision.  If you have existing wallpaper to remove the revive team has the experience and skill to deal with this efficiently, and expertly while minimizing any damage to your existing walls.  Choosing the right wallpaper for the right area is also something to consider, for example vinyl’s are best in wet areas such as bathrooms and kitchens due to moisture, whist non-woven papers and fabrics are suitable for dry areas.  High traffic areas will also benefit from a paper which can be easily wiped.  Whilst wallpapering will cover imperfections of your walls underneath, a good platform is still required to avoid and lumps and bumps which may show through.  Therefore a quality plastering finish is recommended before the application of wallpaper.

EXTERIOR PAINTING

A quality exterior paint job not only freshens your home and enhances the appearance, but more importantly offers primary protection for your home from the harsh elements experienced in Auckland.  “A quality three-coat acrylic system can be expected to perform on timber weatherboards for 7–10 years.  An oil-based or alkyd system may only last 4–6 years. These numbers reduce to 5–7 years and 1–5 years respectively on window sills and other slanted surfaces with greater exposure to damaging ultraviolet light from the sun. A great number of failures on timber surfaces are due to movement or deterioration of the timber underneath.” Resene | Maintaining Exterior Painting Surfaces Regular cleaning and maintenance on the exterior of your home, will increase the longevity of the paint, its therefore an important part of an ongoing maintenance program.  Over the years technical aspects of painting systems have evolved to provide a broad selection of options.  As Resene Eco Decorators and Master Painters, we can provide you with expert advice based on over 20 years industry experience.
